Fresno State Students Protest ICE Presence At Career Expo

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A career expo at Fresno State sparks a protest on campus Wednesday, outside the Save Mart Center.

Immigration and customs enforcement agents showing up for a Fresno state career fair on March 15th had students concerned about the welfare of undocumented immigrants who are part of the campus body.

President Joseph Castro held a press conference after the protest to address student concerns, saying he still supports the school’s Dreamer students.

He says that ICE has been at the career expo in the years past, and they were not targeting any students just recruiting. He vows to keep students abreast of any school, state or nation level changes in immigration  enforcement policy.
