Tip to Crime Stoppers Leads to Arrest of Robbery Suspect

(KMJ) – A tip to Valley Crime Stoppers leads to the arrest of a Fresno robbery suspect.

Fresno Police say 38-year old Joey Pena (pictured above) tried to cut a clerk with a box cutter at Circle K Store at 4211 North First Street while allegedly stealing a few items. This all happened around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17th.

Police then release a photo of Pena to the media and within an hour, a tip was called it to Crime Stoppers anonymous number of 498-STOP.

It lead officers to the 5200 Block of North Sixth Street. There, Pena was taken into custody without incident. He has now been charged with Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
