Fresno Woman Arrested For Animal Cruelty

Tammy Corbin

(KMJ) – Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest a Fresno woman after witnesses reported seeing her slam a dog into a fence.

Deputies say on April 14th, around 5:30 p.m., they were called to the 2700 block of S. Valentine Ave. in Fresno. There, witnesses reported seeing  35-year old Tammy Sue Corbin pick up her dog and slamming it into the ground. As deputies were in route, they say they saw Corbin swing the dog from its leash (made out of a belt) into several fences, telephone poles and palm trees.  Corbin then dragged the dog to get it to walk again and then she would either punch the dog numerous times or swing it into another hard surface.

Corbin was booked into the Fresno County Jail and faces a felony charge of animal cruelty. She also faces misdemeanor charges for possessing a small amount of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.

A member of California Animal Control responded to the scene and to examine the dog and take it to Fresno Humane Animal Services.  Employees at the shelter said the male dog is in good health and is doing well.
