FRESNO (KMJ) — The youngest business owner in Fresno County has broken the Guinness World Record for the number of books collected in 24 hours.

Reading Heart, and its founder Danay Ferguson, collected 280,110 books, beating the previous record by more than 5,678, but falling short of the goal of 500,000 books collected.

The people of Fresno County and the Central Valley all came out in force, to help break the record inside the Fresno Grizzlies’ Chukchansi Park.

Once the truckloads of books are sorted, the plan is that they’ll all be given away to elementary students right across Fresno County.
