NW Fresno Crime Sweep Nabs Suspected Car Thief

GANG ARREST

(KMJ) – In response to an increase of the violent crime trend in Northwest Fresno, Police Chief Jerry Dyer initiated an on-going operation to address the spike in crime.

And that push has yielded its first significant arrest.  Officers proactively patrolling the area of Brawley and Shields came across a vehicle that looked suspicious. While checking the vehicle they noticed the license plates did not match and came back to the wrong vehicle.

That led them to a home in the 3600 block of North Brawley.  There  they located the subject Joe Perales (pictured above) who is a self-proclaimed Fresno Bulldog Gang member.

Perales had an extensive criminal history to include aggravated assault, prior stolen vehicle arrests, and numerous drug related charges. He was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on several felony charges.
