FRESNO (KMJ) — A downtown Fresno restaurant – Kikku Japanese Fast Food – has won the public’s approval and received an impressive prize.

The winners of the Downtown Fresno Foundation’s ‘Restaurant Makeover Competition’ have the notoriety of not only being the very first winner but as well as that get a prize pack worth $25,000.

“We are very grateful and appreciate all my customers, friends, and families who voted for us”, says owner Sylvia Wahyudi. “In the restaurant, when a customer came in, I personally requested each one of them to vote for us.

“We feel very grateful and thankful and we appreciate everyone’s votes and support. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the customers that support us”.

The prize includes a complete renovation of the restaurant’s interior, new branding, an interior design consultation, and a TV commercial.

“By making this place more inviting I think it’ll bring more people to downtown”, continues Sylvia.

The competition was organized by the Downtown Fresno Partnership, who aim to encourage the economic development and revitalization of the area.

Kikku Japanese Fast Food is located at 2336 Tulare Street, Fresno.
