FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Cassandra Michael has been sentenced to to seven years in a youth treatment facility for her role in the murder of Caleb Quick.
Michael, convicted last month of first-degree murder as the getaway driver in the killing, received the maximum sentence available under juvenile law.
The judge rejected requests for a shorter term, saying Michael, now 18, was equally responsible as the shooter and describing the crime as sophisticated.
Michael had no prior criminal record but was credited with 482 days served.
A hearing for the suspected gunman is scheduled for December where a judge will determine if he’ll be tried as an adult or a minor.
Quick was gunned down in front of a Clovis McDonald’s in April of 2025.
