FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig appears to be a shoe-in for a seat in the California Senate in the November general election.
If he wins, it will free up the District 5 seat and trigger a special election.
Clovis Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua and Mayor Pro Tem Diane Pearce, both republicans, are running.
Now, a third candidate is throwing his cowboy hat in the race. Dr. Allen Clyde announced his candidacy during a Tuesday appearance on KMJ’s Broeske & Musson Show.
Clyde is a retired podiatrist and longtime school board member. One of his top priorities is forest management.
District 5 includes Clovis, parts of east Fresno, and the mountain communities.
Listen to the report by KMJ’s Liz Kern.
