CLOVIS, CA (KMJ) A pair of 18-year-olds are in custody following their arrest for allegedly robbing a teenager at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
Clovis PD says Ernest Taylor (pictured) and Marzette Hanks held up a teen boy near Shaw and Minnewawa and stole $600 in cash and the shoes from his feet.
Officers canvassed the area and collected surveillance footage, but the suspects had fled before police arrived.
Hours later, officers were notified that the suspects and their vehicle had returned to a nearby retail parking lot. Responding officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and detained the five
occupants of the vehicle.
Taylor and Hanks were then arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on robbery charges, where they remain in custody.
Investigators recovered the cash stolen during the robbery after searching the area and a nearby home. The handgun used in the crime and the victim’s shoes have not yet been recovered.
Fortunately, there were no injuries during this incident
