FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Fresno County crash has left one man dead.
The Highway Patrol says the collision happened around 5:30 Monday morning on Manning Avenue east of Chateau Fresno.
Investigators say a Toyota Tundra was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided head-on with a big rig hauling an empty trailer.
The impact sent the truck into a nearby vineyard, while the pickup overturned and caught fire.
The driver of the Toyota—identified as 39-year-old Alfonso Ventura of Fresno—was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi driver suffered minor injuries.
CHP says it’s still unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors
