(KMJ) The man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner will remain behind bars as his case moves forward.
Cole Allen, 31, agreed in court Thursday not to contest prosecutors’ claims that he poses a danger to the community. Authorities say Allen exchanged gunfire with law enforcement after rushing a Secret Service checkpoint outside the annual Washington event.
Prosecutors describe Allen as an “uncommonly serious danger,” citing online searches tracking Trump’s movements and emails explaining his actions.
Federal officials also released photos showing Allen armed with guns, ammunition, and multiple knives before his arrest.
