CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — A 49-year-old man has been arrested following a standoff with Clovis Police.
Officers responded to a home on Menlo Avenue near Sierra and McKelvy avenues around 9 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of a disturbance between a man, now identified as Eric Hazelton of Clovis, and a woman.
Investigators say when officers arrived, Hazelton became combative with police and barricaded himself alone in the house.
It’s unknown if the woman suffered any injuries but officers say she was experiencing some pain.
Members of the Clovis Police SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams were then called out to assist in the standoff.
After multiple tactics were used, authorities were able to get Hazelton to come out of the house and he was taken into custody.
Hazelton will be booked into the Fresno County Jail for felony domestic violence, battery on a peace officer and criminal threats.
It’s unknown if any weapons were recovered at the scene.
