CLOVIS, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Water customers in Clovis could soon pay more when they turn on the tap.
Residents have a chance to voice their opinions on a proposed rate hike.
The city says inflation has driven up the cost of operations and infrastructure, prompting consideration of Proposition 218.
Clovis has not had a water rate increase since 2009, and the city says it needs more funds to maintain service and make improvements.
City leaders continue to host public information meetings.
The next one takes place Wednesday, April 8, at 6 pm in the Clovis City Council Chambers on 5th Street.
This will be the last meeting before the April 20 public hearing.
