OAKHURST, Calif. (KMJ) — A Madera County man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he secretly recorded guests staying at his Oakhurst vacation rental without their knowledge.
Investigators arrested 44 year old Christian Parmalee Edwards after executing a search warrant at his home on Granite Butte Way.
Deputies say the investigation began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, leading to the discovery of more than 4,000 digital files of child sexual abuse material on Edwards’ electronic devices.
Edwards is charged with several felonies related to possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, with additional invasion of privacy charges pending.
Authorities are urging anyone who rented the property between 2023 and March 2026 to contact the Madera County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue stopped by the KMJ studios to give Philip Teresi all the disturbing details of the case.
