FRENSO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Action News has learned the identity of the person killed following a suspected DUI crash on Wednesday afternoon near Central and De Wolf avenues, southwest of Sanger.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a Ford truck was traveling east on Central and attempted to turn, pulling into the path of an oncoming Toyota.
The driver of that car could not avoid a collision and hit the truck.
The front passenger of the Toyota, 72-year-old Jesse Hernandez of Fowler, died at the scene.
Officers say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Toyota tried to flee but was found by officers.
They say he is being investigated for felony evading and driving under the influence.
The two men in the Ford were not hurt.
