FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN/KMJ) — The Clovis Rodeo Board of Directors has voted not to include breakaway roping at this year’s rodeo.
In a social media post, the board said the decision was based on a difference of opinion regarding prize money and the terms of agreement.
Jeff Aiello, Associate Director of the Clovis Rodeo, discussed the decision while co-hosting the Broeske & Musson show on Tuesday.
Breakaway roping is not a required event of the sanction organization of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
The board says the rodeo will continue to offer a variety of other events as they continue the traditions for the 112th year.
