VISALIA, CA (KMJ) Richard Bomhard was sentenced this week to 104 years-to-life in prison for crimes against children.
Last December, the 81-year old Visalia man was convicted of 11 counts of child molestation.
After Bomhard’s arrest for the crimes in 2021, he posted bail and was out of custody during the trial process.
On the day of the verdict, Bomhard skipped the hearing and again failed to appear at a required remand time the next morning.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Bomhard was taken into custody by Visalia Police on December 5, 2025.
In addition to his sentence, Bomhard must register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
