TULARE, CA (KMJ) Oscar Zavala was found guilty Thursday of the 2023 murder of a rival gang member in Porterville.
Tulare County prosecutors say Zavala, 29, shot and killed the victim at a Porterville motel.
Surveillance footage showed Zavala approach the victim and fire a single shot. The victim’s body was discovered the next morning in a secluded area of the motel where he had collapsed.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 17, 2026, where Zavala faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
