FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — From soil to Fresno’s newest hotel, the Hyatt House is open and ready for guests.
“Folks having a conference here in the city of Fresno or dropping off their kids on the first day of the semester, catching the Mana concert at the Save Mart Center, watching Shakira at Valley children’s Stadium or watching our Bulldogs playing in the Pac-12 next season. This is going to be the place to stay,” Fresno City Councilmember Tyler Maxwell said.
Built in partnership with the university, the new hotel is the finishing touch for the Campus Pointe area.
“Fresno State definitely needs something like this sooner rather than later,” student Nathaniel Ramos said.
“Overall, it’s good to see expansion,” student Giovani said.
The first step was student housing, then came workforce and senior housing, next entertainment and finally a hotel.
A key piece of economic development to complete the project.
“This has been needed for a long time, right here off the freeway the 168 right at the university center of town. This is the perfect time for this project,” Scott Miller with the Fresno Chamber of Commerce said.
Each aspect of Campus Pointe was built with intention and with students top of mind. Some already hired and working at the hotel.
From the pool to the bar, event spaces and the lobby, the hotel offers a luxurious option for guests.
The rooms are also unique to fit the needs of visiting families or long-term stays.
“The house means that some of the rooms have kitchens in them so you can do extended stay here,” Tracy Kashian said.
A one-stop shop location, fostering the college town feel filled with bulldog pride.
And there are still more projects in the works. The empty lot right next to the hotel is set to be an office space and have more restaurant options.
