TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — A woman is dead following a crash in Tulare County late Monday night.
It happened just before 11:30 pm on Road 100 and Avenue 264, just north of Tulare.
The California Highway Patrol says a white BMW and blue Jeep Compass were on opposite lanes of Road 100 approaching Avenue 264.
That’s when the BMW veered to the left for unknown reasons and collided with the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep was pinned in, with a child buckled safely in the back seat.
The 19-year-old BMW driver was able to get out of the car before it went up in flames.
The 23-year-old Jeep driver was taken to Adventist Health, where she later died.
Her passenger was sent to Kaweah Health as a precaution.
The BMW driver was also taken to the hospital with major injuries to her legs.
Officers do not believe alcohol and drugs were factors.
