FRESNO, CA (KMJ) As the government shutdown enters another week, the frustration among flyers is beginning to boil over.
Departures were scrapped from FYI to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Salt Lake.
At least 60 flights were canceled at LAX on Monday. SFO reported 301 delays and 48 cancellations on Sunday afternoon.
Officials at the Federal Aviation Administration decided to gradually increase air travel reductions to 10% after the agency’s safety team determined it would be the best approach, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told reporters at Reagan National Airport.
The FAA says the air traffic cuts are needed as air traffic controllers continue to go without pay and are stretched thin.
