STOCKTON, CA (KMJ) The fallout from the passage of Prop. 50 has begun in the north valley.
Former Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln announced Thursday that he’s running for Congress, challenging incumbent Adam Gray (D-CA) in the 13th District.
This is not the first shot at Congress for the republican US Marine Corps vet. He lost a tight race to Josh Harder (D-CA) for the 9th Congressional seat in 2024.
While Prop. 50 passed overwhelmingly by California voters on Tuesday, it is the subject of a federal lawsuit filed by the California GOP and Assemblyman David Tangipa (R-Clovis). They claim the redistricting law is unconstitutional.
Lincoln was elected Mayor of Stockton in 2019.
