CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Valley Pink Patch is supporting the fight of kicking cancer.
A “beauty day” was held at Clovis Community.
Twenty-four breast cancer survivors were pampered and given beauty tutorials from ULTA Beauty.
Afterwards, honorees were greeted by local officers to get escorted down the pink carpet, where family, friends and care teams cheered them on.
Wednesday’s activities kicked off this year’s campaign, which has already raised $134,000 for local breast cancer patients.
All month long, local law enforcement will sell pink versions of their uniform patches to the public for $10.
All proceeds will benefit the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Cancer Center.
“This is exciting because law enforcement has a chance to unite with the community to come up and raise funds to support Community Medical Center and the Radin Breast Cancer Center. These are ladies who are our wives, our mothers, our daughters. They are great community members who are battling and need support. We have some of the finest doctors and equipment to early detect cancer, and that’s what we are looking for — to support the women in our community,” says Madera Police Chief Gino Chiaramonte.
Organizers with the program say this is a record year for the Valley Pink Patch with 20 law enforcement partners participating.
