FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Two local teens have been busted racing at speeds of more than 100 MPH along Hwy 99 and Hwy 41. Fresno PD’s Air 1 helicopter was in the air and spotted two red sports cars swerving through traffic and even using the shoulder to pass.
The chopper tracked both vehicles to Fashion Fair where officers arrested the 19-year-old drivers as they pulled into Chick-fil-A.
Both were arrested for reckless driving, and their cars were impounded for 30 days.

After the bust, the CHP made a post on social media directed at parents: “If you’ve co-signed on your teen’s or young adult’s vehicle, remember, you could also be held financially responsible for the consequences of their driving behavior. Reckless driving doesn’t just lead to tickets or impounds. It endangers lives. High speeds and unsafe maneuvers are major contributors to severe crashes and fatalities. Please talk with the young drivers in your family. Remind them that every time they take the wheel, they take on a life-or-death responsibility.”
