A Flood Watch is in effect for most of Central California from 2 pm Thursday until 5 pm Friday.
The storm is coming as remnants of Tropical Storm Mario reach the area.
Flooding is possible for some areas, so drivers should take extra caution during their commutes and leave early to save time.
As the rain moves in Thursday evening, the California Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to prepare their cars for the season.
Most of the storms are expected to begin around 8 pm Thursday and linger into the overnight hours.
This round of storms will bring lower temperatures with 80-degree days going to the weekend before a return to the low 90s.
Ahead of this storm, PG&E advises you to charge all of your devices, have a flashlight and backup batteries ready, along with nonperishable food in case you experience an outage.
