TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) – A high school wrestling coach in Southern California has been arrested on suspicion of molesting 25 students on his team.
The Los Angeles Times reports Thomas Snider turned himself in Wednesday to Torrance police, who have been investigating allegations against the 47-year-old for several months.
Authorities say Snider could face multiple charges including lewd acts involving children and child annoyance. Snider’s attorney, Rosty Gore, says his client categorically denies all the accusations.
Torrance Unified School District says Snider is on unpaid leave from Torrance High School, where he was a teacher and coach.
Sgt. Paul Kranke says the 25 students he’s accused of molesting were all members of the school’s wrestling team and ranged in age from 13 to 16.
The newspaper says the alleged misconduct occurred between September 2013 and January 2015.
