FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — With the shift in power in Washington, trust in lawmakers to do the right thing has taken a major turn, according to a new Pew report.
For the first time since the Bush presidency, Republicans are more likely than Democrats to trust the government, at 28 percent.
Only 15 percent of Democrats share that feeling, which is among the party’s lowest level in around 6 decades.
Even with the shift in opinions, Pew says no greater than 30 percent of Americans have trusted Washington over the past decade, which is the longest period of low trust since the late 50s.
