FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Revealing that a double quarter-pounder with cheese contains 740 calories, apparently, doesn’t do much.
According to a new study published in the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, only about 8 percent of fast-food consumers base their choices on caloric values.
Researchers say calorie labels alone do not appear to be motivating changes, adding that more comprehensive nutrition labels are needed to combat obesity, caused, partially, by the consumption of unhealthy fast-food.
