A Democrat with political experience on Fresno’s City Council is now running for the Fresno County Board of Supervisors District 3 seat.
Businessman, Dan Ronquillo says he was to stimulate the business economy as he did during his eight years on City Council.
“Certainly, we have many challenges in today’s world, but I’m going to try and get it focused in the economy for the one reason, and the primary reason is to create some job opportunities.” – Dan Ronquillo, Candidate, District 3.
Ronquillo has lived in District 3 for over 25 years, was a Fresno City Councilmember for 8 years, a former law enforcement officer for 28 years, and graduated from California State University of Fresno with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
Public safety is a priority, and with a background as a retired law enforcement officer he say he knows what it takes to build safer and stronger neighborhoods. “I think I have a good perspective on that.”
Ronquillo wants to see the Valley agriculture be used more for local endeavors.
“You have a big population within the county that has to be fed and those are the prisoners, so why not feed them from here,” said Ronquillo. “Sometimes, a pot of gold is in your back yard and you don’t have to go looking for it elsewhere.”
He also lists fighting blight, and pushing for the revitalization of South Fresno and the Downtown area as tops on his list of objectives if he wins the District 3 seat.
“Rolling up your sleeves and trying to come up with creative ways and thinking out of the box and trying to come up with answers.” – Dan Ronquillo, Candidate, District 3.
Ronquillo is running against Fresno City Councilmember Sal Quintero for the district that includes Central Fresno and the communities of Calwa and Mayfair.
Henry Perea, who currently holds the Fresno County Board of Supervisors District 3 seat, announced that he is running for Mayor of Fresno.
