A Clovis horse ranch that helps children with special needs through horse therapy is expanding services to veterans coming back from war — but it needs the communities help to complete their goal.
The Heart of the Horse Therapy Ranch has had very good results with children and now the Director Guy Adams is hoping to assist current veterans coming back from war.
Adams hopes to renovate a house on the E&J Gallo Winery property, which was leased to him for just a dollar a year.
The structure was burned inside and needs to be gutted, and renovated so that the home with 6 bedrooms can serve as a placing of healing for those who served our country.
They need to raise about $200,000 dollars, and donated skilled help to rehab the house.
When done, Adams says they could house about ten veterans with minor post traumatic stress disorder.
Adams would then use them as the workforce to help other veterans with severe PTSD and loss of limbs – through the horse therapy.
