Fresno (KMJ) “America is the land of opportunity.” It’s a phrase that’s been around for a few centuries. But now, according to the University of California, that phrase is considered racist – or a “Myth of Meritocracy”.

According to the university’s webpage, the seminars were initiated by UC president Janet Napolitano. The National Review reports that Napolitano is touting the phrase changes as “best way to build and nurture a productive academic climate”.
