FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A group of parents opposed to California’s requirement that all public school students be vaccinated have filed a lawsuit, alleging that the mandate is illegal.
Following the 2014 measles outbreak at Disneyland, lawmakers passed one of the nation’s toughest vaccination laws, eliminating religious and personal belief exemptions.
However, some parents claim it’s a violation of their constitutional rights, and turns their unvaccinated children into second-class citizens.
Proponents of the mandate say those arguments are unfounded.
