Coincidentally, just minutes after Trump ended his interview with KMJ and headed off to headline the GOP California Convention in Burlingame, came word that Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin endorsed Gov. John Kasich for President. In a release, Mayor Swearengin said “He has a proven, pragmatic and responsible record of getting things done for the American people. If we are serious about winning and putting solutions first to grow our economy, I encourage Californians to join me and support Governor Kasich as he makes his way to the convention and to the White House.”
Trump’s lunchtime speech at the Convention was delayed because of a disturbance from anti-Trump protesters. The mass demonstration forced Trump and his entourage to jump over a small retaining wall to access the GOP Convention being held at the Hyatt Regency. “It felt like I was crossing the border” Trump said as he began his speech to the crowd.
17 protesters, some of whom got violent, were arrested Thursday evening outside of another Trump event in Costa Mesa, CA.
