(KMJ) A prominent valley family is helping Valley Children’s Hospital with a $1.5 Million gift.
The Parnagian family, owners of Fowler Packing, is sending $1 million to back the Children’s Child Life Program which specializes in helping families understand diagnoses and treatments.
The additional $500,000 will go to the Children’s Fund. In turn, the hospital will name its playground at its future facility planned for Fowler after the Parnagian family.
Fowler Packing Co. is one of the largest growers, packers and shippers of fresh produce in the U.S.
“We are so grateful for the Parnagians’ donation,” says Child Life Specialist Joy Barton, whose tour for a Parnagian family member inspired the gift. “This endowment will allow us to grow our department. We hope to one day reach every patient and family at Valley Children’s, and we couldn’t grow our program without the help of generous community members like the Parnagian family,” Barton said in a news release.
Valley Children’s President and CEO Todd Suntrapak says, “Dennis, his brothers Ken, Randy and Philip, along with their cousin Jim and uncle Pete, are models of leadership in agriculture and business. They have succeeded for all the right reasons. This remarkably generous gift marks another chapter in the Parnagians’ tremendous history of supporting Valley Children’s, as both leaders and philanthropists.”
