FRESNO (KMJ) — Brian Cooks has pleaded not guilty to all three charges in connection with the death of Janessa Ramirez.
His arraignment this morning in Fresno County Superior Court was the first time he's been seen since Chief Dyer made the announcement of his arrest on Friday.
He appeared reserved and quiet in the court room – with what looked like a scared look etched on his face.
His preliminary hearing in scheduled in around two week's time. He's currently being held on a $2.2 million bail.
Meanwhile, the other man accused of Janessa Ramirez's murder – Isaac Stafford – has been released from jail as of last night.
The DA's office has not filed charges against him in connection with the 9 year old's murder – but add that it is pending further investigation.
