(KMJ) A Richgrove man is behind bars on a murder charge just four months after being released from custody for a previous murder conviction.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a shooting just after midnight September 27th in the 20800 block of Francis Drive in Richgrove. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives identified 22-year-old Jacob Ramirez Aguilar as the suspect and spent the past two weeks tracking his whereabouts through surveillance.
On Tuesday, Tulare County SWAT, homicide investigators, the CATTCH team, and Kern County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at a home in Delano and arrested Aguilar. He was booked into the South County Detention Facility on a murder charge.
Investigators say this is Aguilar’s second murder arrest. He was convicted for his role in the 2020 robbery-murder of a store owner in Waukena while he was a juvenile. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Aguilar was released in May after receiving credit for time served and was not placed on probation or parole. Four months later, he’s now accused in another homicide case.
