FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The man charged with the stabbing of a deputy district attorney in Downtown Fresno appeared before a judge on Wednesday.
Dustin Crawford pleaded not guilty to several charges, including attempted murder and assault on a public official.
His hearing was delayed last week due to a courtroom outburst and Crawford was assigned a new defense attorney.
Back in August, Investigators said Crawford approached the deputy DA at Courthouse Park and stabbed him three times in the back.
The victim survived and is recovering.
The District Attorney’s Office says the stabbing was an act of retaliation by the suspect for a case handled by the prosecutor in the past.
Tulare County prosecutors are handling the case.
Crawford is set to be back in court next month.
