FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Crews are working to clear the smoke after a fire started Wednesday morning in an underground parking garage in Downtown Fresno.
The call came in just after 9 o’clock this morning about a fire on Van Ness near Tulare Street below the old Club One Casino and Radisson Hotel.
Fire crews say a sprinkler head kept the fire contained to one car, which was a regular gas-powered car, not electric.
The parking garage filled with smoke, however, there were no evacuation orders in place because the building above is vacant.
However, a nearby office building, the Fresno Council of Governments, had to be evacuated. About two dozen people there had to leave their offices.
The Fresno Fire Department called in their mobile ventilation unit to help clear out the smoke.
