FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Police have confirmed that Fresno City Council District 1 candidate Naindeep Singh was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug.
Officers are waiting for toxicology results.
Multiple sources tell Action News the arrest happened in the Tower District October 24 and say Singh was cited and released.
Action News is still working to confirm additional details.
Singh is also a member of the Central Unified School Board.
The campaign for Singh’s opponent, Rob Fuentes, released a statement, saying in part, ”Naindeep Singh must answer for this incident and the questions it raises about his judgment. Step one: he should immediately withdraw from the race for city council.”
