TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Some voters in Tulare County received a duplicate vote-by-mail ballot in an error ahead of the midterm elections.
The Tulare County Registrar of Voters says the issue is due to a vendor error during the ballot replacement procedure.
The office says the vendor has taken full responsibility and is working with the county for further guidance.
Residents impacted are being reminded to submit only one ballot and destroy the other. Either ballot can be submitted.
Tulare County voters are part of a nationally-highlighted race for District 22 between Randy Villegas and David Valadao.
House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senator Bernie Sanders were recently in Central California to campaign for the two candidates.
Overall, District 22 covers parts of Kings, Tulare, Kern, and Fresno counties.
Voting twice in an election is considered a crime and could result in fines.
