FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The excitement from Fresno County students was loud on Thursday as thousands made their way to the Big Fresno Fair for Education Day.
Taylor Collins says students get a map of the fair with places to check out.
“Learn about agriculture, the history of Fresno, get some food while they are out here and go see the fine arts building or the live stalk barn,” said Operations Coordinator Taylor Collins.
Collins says volunteers are also prepared to educate students at every location.
“All of these sheep are pregnant and going to give birth within the next few weeks,” said a volunteer to students.
“If they spend half the day with the pigmy goats because they are so cute, they absolutely can, and there will be volunteers there to talk to them about agriculture as a whole…wherever they end up, they are going to get something out of it,” said Collins.
Students from Freedom Elementary shared what they experience.
“We saw animals, cows, pigs, chickens”
Ernesto Cazares was at the fair with his son, other students and parents.
He says it takes him back to his childhood and appreciates the effort to make the event educational and fun.
There are three more education days happening at the fair, and thousands more will get to explore.
Students who stopped by have a ticket to come back another day for free.
