FRESNO, CA – On Friday morning, Clovis Police detectives arrested a walk-on part-time percussion coach from Buchanan High School for unlawful sex with a minor.
Their investigation began when the parents of a former Buchanan High School student reported the crime after they found inappropriate messages between their daughter and the suspect on an old device.
The victim graduated from Buchanan in June and is no longer a student at the school.
The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Jacob Meier of Clovis.
Meier has been booked into Fresno County Jail for felony sex with a minor, and he was immediately fired by Clovis Unified School District (CUSD).
Detectives served a search warrant at his home and collected additional evidence during the arrest.
At this time, there is no evidence that other minors are involved, and detectives are currently investigating the timeline of the crime.
CUSD and Buchanan High School are fully cooperating with this investigation, and this investigation remains open.
