WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KFSN) — A bell toll tribute ceremony took place Wednesday for fallen California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Liles.
It took place at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento.
Numerous law enforcement members were in attendance to pay their respects.
According to the CHP, Liles was riding his patrol motorcycle Monday evening when he collided with a truck-tractor. He was thrown and struck by a passing vehicle.
Liles began his career with the CHP in the Bay Area after graduating from the CHP Academy and being assigned to the agency’s San Jose office in 2010. Before serving in the South Valley, he worked in the communities of Hayward and Fresno before transferring to Visalia in 2019.
He leaves behind a wife, two children, parents and siblings, as well as a community grieving his loss.
