HANFORD, CA (KMJ) – A Hanford police K-9 who has helped protect the community is now fighting for his own recovery.

Hanford Police Department K-9 Jett is being treated by veterinary specialists in Irvine after developing a serious illness.
Officials say the police dog is expected to need ongoing specialty care in the days ahead.
Jett has faithfully served alongside his handler and helped protect officers and residents throughout the Hanford community.
The Hanford Police K-9 Foundation is asking for public support, with tax-deductible donations being accepted through Venmo.
