(KMJ) Xavier Becerra and Steve Hilton will square off in a gubernatorial candidate debate Wednesday, Sept. 30.
CNN will air the showdown at 6pm PT on all of its platforms.
Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the event from Southern California.
Hilton, the republican nominee, had been calling publicly for a debate with Becerra for several weeks. The democrat’s camp has, up until now, refused to respond.
Becerra has held a consistent lead in the polls over Hilton since winning the nomination, but the former Fox News star claims he’s closing the gap ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
Early voting and ballot drop-off locations for the general election will be coming Oct. 5.
