FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Fresno Public Works Director Scott Mozier is retiring after 24 years with the department.
He took over as Director in January 2014.
“Scott has been instrumental in shaping Fresno and delivering projects that will serve our community for decades to come,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. “We will miss him and the incredible way he has served our city over the years, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
City Manager Georgeanne White has appointed Brian Russell as the City’s new Public Works Director. She says Russell brings more than three decades of experience with the department and will assume his new office Oct. 5.
Other department roles will realign as a result of Russell’s promotion. Assistant Director Harmanjit Dhaliwal will take on City Engineer duties and oversee Development Services, while Assistant Director Jill Gormley will take over the Capital Management function, overseeing coordination of Public Works projects with the City’s Capital Projects Department. The City will recruit for a new Assistant Director to oversee Street Maintenance, Landscape Maintenance and Graffiti Abatement.
