OK. Stay with me here. Ashley Swearingen’s Better Roads, Safer Streets act is back on the November ballot – for now. But, the Fresno County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to sue the state of California and Fresno elections boss James Kus to remove the controversial legislation from local democrat Assemblywoman Esmarelda Soria (AB 1923) which was signed into law by Gov. Newsom. We’ll monitor the legal battle here as a Sept. 9 deadline for ballot printing looms large. If it lands on the ballot, it will be called Measure S. Meanwhile, four city councilmembers skipped an emergency meeting on Mayor Dyer’s backup tax proposal – so that one remains on the ballot. A scathing report has also been issued about the roads tax measure authored by Swearingen’s non-profit. Now, you’re all caught up…I think.
