REEDLEY, Calif. (KFSN/KMJ) — A search is underway for a driver after police say two people in Reedley were killed in a hit-and-run.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office released the identities of the victims, as 75-year-old Luis Martinez Araujo and 78-year-old Maria Juarez Mendez.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said the couple were in a long-term dating relationship.
Authorities were called out to Manning at Haney avenues just before 5 am Tuesday.
Police arrived and found Araujo and Mendez hit by a vehicle. They were both taken to the hospital, where they died.
Authorities are now searching for the driver they say fled the scene.
No information on a suspect vehicle has been released.
