FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Fresno native and San Joaquin Memorial alum Max Arfsten has officially made the 2026 World Cup U.S. men’s national team roster.
The full 26-man roster was officially revealed on Tuesday during an event in New York. This will be Arfsten’s first World Cup.
Arfsten, 25, plays for the MLS club Columbus Crew and has made 18 caps, including five starts, scoring one goal for the U.S. national team.
Arfsten has recently earned call-ups for international friendlies as preparation for the World Cup.
This will be the second time in recent years that the Central Valley has been represented on the world stage. Fellow Fresno native and Bullard alum Lynn Williams was a part of the U.S women’s roster for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The USMNT will play in two send-off friendlies against Senegal and Germany before kicking off its World Cup group play against Paraguay on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
