UPDATE: Clovis West H.S. ALL CLEAR After Lockdown After Suspicious Phone Call

The lockdown at Clovis West and the shelter in place at Fort Washington have been lifted. Please see below for parent messages.

Clovis Unified Police Department and Fresno Police Department have concluded their work at Clovis West High School, and our school has been released from its Lockdown. The suspicious call about our campus has been confirmed to be a hoax. We will continue to work with law enforcement in their effort to identify and prosecute anyone responsible for the disruption caused by such hoaxes.

Students will be on a modified bell schedule for the remainder of the day with a regular release time. Students and staff will be notified of details.  Regularly scheduled after-school activities will continue.

We recognize that experiences like this impact every student differently and encourage you to check in with your child tonight. Our student support team is always available, and if needed, please reach out to your child’s academic to connect with resources at school.

Fort Washington Elementary has been moved to a Shelter in Place. Clovis West continues to be in lockdown as local law enforcement and Clovis Unified PD investigates the campus. The following updated message has been sent out to parents of Clovis West:

Hello Clovis West families,

Please be aware that we are still in lockdown while investigating a suspicious phone call made regarding our school. ​We are working with both CUSD Police Department and Fresno Police Department to investigate. We will send more updates as needed.

During a lockdown, students and staff are kept inside, with doors locked and lights off. Police are leading the on-campus response and no one can enter or leave our site while in lockdown. To keep roads clear for law enforcement, please do not come to campus during this lockdown event. We will send updates with more information after students are secure inside. If this lockdown is prolonged, additional updates will be sent to you throughout.
